MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The French presidential elections will take place in April and May 2017. Fillon is expected to face far-right Front National's Marine Le Pen and a nominee of the ruling Socialist Party, who will be picked in January.
"No one believes that the Socialist Party has a chance to win the upcoming presidential elections, since they are that scattered and their results are that disastrous. No one believes that the National Front will be able to come with any solutions," Mariani, a member of the National Assembly, said commenting on Sunday's Francois Fillon victory in The Republicans primary election.
