MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Control over the website was later regained.
"The process of hacking and piracy came in the framework of the media and propaganda war hatched against Syria and a flagrant attempt to broadcast false news and distort facts," the state-run SANA news agency quoted a source at the ministry as saying.
