MOSCOW (Sputnik) – According to the Evening Standard newspaper, Khan announced extra funding of service development at four Rape Crisis Centers and three Sexual Assault Referral Centers, after the Mayor’s staff and the National Health Service (NHS) issued a report, which indicates the existing problems, including the uneven access to service provisions.
"By developing existing services, we can build on the work already being done to prevent sexual abuse from happening, and offer victims in all areas of the capital enhanced support," Khan said, as quoted by the Evening Standard newspaper.
According to the report dubbed "The London Sexual Violence Needs Assessment 2016", both adults and children may suffer sexual abuse and solely in London some 24,000 adults may be subject to sexual violence. Such city areas as Westminster, Lambeth and Croydon are reported to be most dangerous as they witness assaults most frequently.
