MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Overall, some 250,000 people are trapped in east Aleppo, an area with a high risk of bombing, the charity said in a report. The civilians live in poor conditions, while families are often separated, losing contact.
“With so many people trapped in an ever-shrinking space, children can be little more than sitting targets for bombs … We are hearing that things are so bad that many families fear they will not live through the night,” Save the Children's Syria Director Sonia Khush said, as quoted in the press release.
The situation in Aleppo has been seriously deteriorating over the recent months. Thousands of citizens are believed to be trapped in the terrorist-besieged eastern parts of Aleppo with no access to food or water. There have been several attempts to establish a ceasefire, however the bids have failed.
