MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered sending special task medical unit and mobile field hospitals to provide immediate medical assistance to the residents of Syria's embattled city of Aleppo and its neighborhoods.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, mobile field hospitals will also include ambulance stations, x-ray room, anesthesiology department, laboratory diagnostics department.
The ministry added that the number of pediatricians and obstetrics in the medical unit will be increased.
According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the Russian Defense Ministry will send a special medical unit equipped with a multipurpose hospital for 100 patients, which has a children ward, while the Russian Emergencies Ministry will send a mobile field hospital for 50 patients, which can also provide ambulatory treatment for some 200 people per day.
