“Chairman Price, a renowned physician, has earned a reputation for being a tireless problem solver and the go-to expert on healthcare policy, making him the ideal choice to serve in this capacity,” Trump said.
He added that Price's qualification would contribute to the implementation of Trump's election pledges in the sphere of healthcare.
“He is exceptionally qualified to shepherd our commitment to repeal and replace Obamacare and bring affordable and accessible healthcare to every American. I am proud to nominate him as Secretary of Health and Human Services," he said.
He added that Seema Verma would be nominated as Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
"She [Verma] has decades of experience advising on Medicare and Medicaid policy and helping states navigate our complicated systems," Trump indicated.
Together Price and Verma are "the dream-team" and will make a significant contribution to the country's health system for the good of the US nation, the president-elect stressed.
Trump won the US presidential election on November 8. His inauguration will be held on January 20, 2017. His transitional team has been busy filling in posts in the administration-in-waiting.
