The US-led coalition against Daesh conducted 13 airstrikes against the jihadist group in Iraq and Syria on Tuesday, hitting terrorists’ chemical weapons storage facility near the Syrian city of Raqqa, Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve said in a press release.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US-led coalition of more than 60 nations has been conducting airstrikes against Daesh in Syria and Iraq since 2014. However, the strikes in Syria are not authorized by the legitimate government of President Bashar Assad or by the UN Security Council.

"Near Ar Raqqah, one strike engaged an ISIL [Daesh] chemical weapons storage facility," the release stated on Wednesday.
