MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A number of Middle East and African countries have experienced civil unrest in the recent years, which, in some of them led to terrorist organizations gaining foothold, as it happened with the Daesh, banned in Russia and many other countries, capturing wide swaths of territory in Iraq, Syria and Libya.
"The Near East and the Middle East are at the moment experiencing structural destabilization. The current situation in the Near and Middle East, in Africa serves as a vivid example of a poorly-planned interference in the sovereign states' affairs," Naryshkin said.
The SVR chief added that the "erosion of the international law is dangerously close to the point of no return."
