WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for secretary of the Treasury, Steven Mnuchin, said Wednesday he would focus on bringing US economic growth to 3-4 percent.
"Our number one priority is going to be the economy, get back to 3 to 4 percent growth. We believe that is very sustainable and focus on things for the American worker," Mnuchin stated at the Trump Tower in New York.
Earlier on Wednesday, Trump announced he picked Mnuchin, who is a former partner for US multinational banking company Goldman Sachs, to head the Treasury Department.
The president-elect has also selected Wilbur Ross as secretary of the US Department of Commerce and Todd Ricketts as deputy secretary of commerce.
