WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Two of the candidates are former Massachusetts Governor and 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, according to the transition team.
"The Secretary of State position has been narrowed down to four potential candidates," Spicer told reporters in a phone call.
Spicer would not reveal the names of the other two candidates.
Transition spokesperson Jason Miller added that Trump is looking for a candidate who will represent the United States well on the world stage and who has a serious world view.
According to media reports, Trump is also considering former General David Petraeus and Senator Bob Corker for the US top diplomat position.
