WASHINGTON (Sputnik) —Mnuchin is a former partner for US multinational banking company Goldman Sachs. He has also served as Trump’s presidential campaign finance director. Ross headed an investment banking firm Rothschild Inc. and advised Trump’s team on trade policy.
"President-elect Donald J. Trump today announced his intent to nominate Steven Mnuchin as Secretary of the US Department of Treasury, Wilbur Ross as Secretary of the US Department of Commerce and Todd Ricketts as Deputy Secretary of Commerce," the release stated.
"Wilbur Ross is a champion of American manufacturing and knows how to help companies succeed. Most importantly, he is one of the greatest negotiators I have ever met, and that comes from me, the author of The Art of the Deal," Trump said in the release.
