"In what concerns bilateral issues in the relations with the US, unfortunately, I do not see any chances to get even the slightest improvements from the outgoing administration, even some fragmented, separate signals of there being a potential for improvement," Ryabkov told journalists on Wednesday.
The deputy foreign minister stressed that Moscow has tried multiple times to improve its ties with Washington.
"But it seems like opposition to the improvement of relations with Russia is so strong in Washington, that these efforts are not yielding results," Ryabkov said.
Ryabkov said also said that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US State Secretary John Kerry may discuss the latest developments in Ukraine and Syria at upcoming talks in Rome.
Ryabkov confirmed that a meeting between Lavrov and Kerry on the sidelines of the "Mediterranean dialogues" international conference on December 1-3 in Rome is being prepared.
"I think that Ukraine will be thoroughly discussed…As you know we maintain close contacts with the American side on this issue…and it will be only logical to discuss this topic right after a Minsk meeting in Normandy Four format," Ryabkov told reporters.
Ryabkov also said that top Russian and US diplomats will most likely discuss the political and security aspects of the situation in Syria, especially in the embattled city of Aleppo.
