MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Ukraine is yet to react to Russia position on Kiev's planned missile launches near Crimea, Russian Transport Maxim Sokolov said Thursday, adding that Moscow had informed the chief international aviation safety body of the Ukrainian drills.
"No response so far," Sokolov told reporters on the sidelines of the 10th international Transport of Russia forum.
Russian Defense Ministry summoned Ukraine's defense attache last week to serve a note protesting Ukraine illegally restricting the use of airspace over the Black Sea during December 1-2 missile firing drills near Crimea.
Sokolov said that he sent a letter on the Ukrainian missile firing exercises to International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council President Olumuyiwa Bernard Aliu on Wednesday.
"Of course, our ICAO office, [Alexey] Novgorodov [Russian Representative on ICAO Council], has received it. We have taken all the needed countermeasures," Sokolov said.
