Saudi Arabia Hopes Anti-Terror Coordination With US Continues Under Trump
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – US president-elect Donald Trump has promised to protect his country from terrorism in the wake of the Ohio State University campus attack.

"We will do everything in our power to keep the scourge of terrorism out of our country. People are pouring in from regions of the Middle East. We have no idea who they are, where they are, what they’re thinking. And we’re going to stop that dead cold flat. You just take a good look at what just happened in your state," Trump said at a rally in Ohio on Thursday, as quoted by Columbus Dispatch.

On Monday, Ohio State University student Abdul Razak Ali Artan drove a car up onto a campus sidewalk and plowed into a group of pedestrians. He then got out and began stabbing people before being shot to death by a campus police officer.

Prior to the attack, Artan reportedly published a militant Islamist diatribe on social media that expressed anger over perceived mistreatment of Muslims by the United States. Artan did not express loyalty to any particular terrorist group.

Eleven people were injured in the attack.

On Tuesday, the Islamic State (Daesh) radical group, banned in the United States, claimed responsibility for the attack. The group said one of its "soldiers" carried out the attack in response to the Daesh call to target members of the US-led coalition fighting the group in Syria and Iraq.
