WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – The United States can use sanctions to get what it wants out of Iran, and the 2015 nuclear deal agreed to with the administration of President Barack Obama is not necessary, US Senator David Perdue told reporters after meeting with US President-elect Donald Trump on Friday.
"I believe the United States is powerful enough in our sanctioning ability that we came bring them to a point where to get what we can get what we need out of that deal if at all," Perdue stated. "[W]hat we’re trying to do is encourage the president-elect to open those conversations, because I believe this current deal is not acceptable and we cannot let it go forward."
