"A huge work has been done. More than 98,000 people will work in the electoral commissions at all levels. All 9,383 voting stations are set ready for presidential elections," Abdusalomov said.
The CEC chairman added that over 500 international observers from 50 countries, as well as from a number of organizations like Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Organization of Islamic cooperation, were registered for elections.
According to Abdusalomov, 14 district election commissions were established, and 21.4 million citizens were included in the list of voters.
The vote comes after the death of long-time Uzbek leader Islam Karimov, who died on September 2 at the age of 78. Prime Minister Shavkat Mirziyoyev was named acting president until the next elections.
