MEXICO CITY (Sputnik) – Venezuelan Credicard payment system, as well as the Internet system of the entire country, have been affected by cyber attacks, President Nicolas Maduro has announced.
Maduro declared a "permanent alert" on Friday, saying, as cited by El Universal, that specialists were working to identify the culprit of the cyber attacks.
According to El Universal, Credicard confirmed on Friday that there were problems in the system because of a technical fault on the platform.
Credicard covers the operation of about half of all payment cards in Venezuela.
