MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Green Party leader Jill Stein’s campaign for a vote recount in three US swing states will take the fight to the federal court after its bid in Pennsylvania failed over a lack of funding, the campaign’s lawyer said.
"Make no mistake – the Stein campaign will continue to fight for a statewide recount in Pennsylvania," Jonathan Abady, lead counsel to the Stein recount efforts, said in a statement.

Stein launched a donor-backed campaign for recounts in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin last month after allegations of electoral fraud. The state court in Pennsylvania ordered a $1 million bond for the recount to proceed, a sum the Green Party said was too high for a crowd-funded initiative.
"On Monday the Stein campaign will escalate our campaign in Pennsylvania and file for emergency relief in federal court, demanding a statewide recount on constitutional grounds," the attorney vowed.
Abady said it had become clear over the past several days that "the barriers to verifying the vote in Pennsylvania are so pervasive and that the state court system is so ill-equipped to address this problem that we must seek federal court intervention."
Last Monday, Republican nominee Donald Trump was officially certified the winner of the presidential election in Michigan with a lead of 10,704 votes. The recount in Wisconsin is underway. Trump won the three battleground states by a slim margin.
