DAMASCUS (Sputnik) — A total of 21 shells landed on the territory of the two villages, wounding 10 civilians and causing serious damage to some houses and private property, the Syrian news agency SANA said on Sunday.
Despite being under siege, terrorists reportedly continue shelling residential districts controlled by the Syrian government forces.
On Saturday, the Syrian army took over another two districts in the eastern Aleppo and is leading the offensive further with the support of local militia, after militants have refused to surrender and leave the city peacefully.
Overall, the government forces have by now recaptured almost half of the parts of the city seized by rebels in 2012.
The battle over Aleppo is ongoing for several months, with thousands of civilians blocked from leaving the city.
