WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – The Pentagon estimate “minimally met the credibility standard because it did not contain a sensitivity analysis,” the report, issued Monday, stated. “‘Minimally met’” means the agency provided evidence that satisfies a small portion of the criterion.”
The Defense Department’s Joint Intelligence Analysis Complex, which provides critical intelligence support for the US military’s European and Africa commands as well as US allies, is currently located at the British Royal Air Force base in Molesworth, England, the GAO noted.
The Defense Department has described the Molesworth facility as “inadequate and inefficient” and is seeking to move its operations to the RAF base at Croughton, England, at a cost projected to be almost $240 million, the report noted.
Unless the Defense Department incorporates a full analysis in its cost estimates for the project, it won’t be providing decision-makers with reliable information, the GAO stated.
