WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – US aircraft manufacturers can expect increased orders for commercial and military aircraft, prompting a shift in the industry outlook from stable to favorable, Fitch Ratings said in a report on Monday.
"The change reflects a projected 8 percent increase in large commercial aircraft deliveries and 3 percent forecast growth in relevant defense markets," in the coming year, a press release explaining the report said.
At the same time, revised trade policies emerging from the recent US election could hamper the competitiveness of North American commercial aerospace companies, especially where China is concerned, the release explained.
On the defense side, risks include a budget cap on US military purchases, the report noted.
