ANKARA (Sputnik) — Erdogan signed a bill on Tuesday to ratify Ankara’s deal with Moscow on a Turkish Stream gas pipeline project.
"Legislation No6765 (On the Ratification of an Agreement on the Turkish Stream") has been deemed acceptable!" the notification read.
The draft law was passed earlier by the Turkish parliament. The document was published by the Resmi Gazete, the country’s official journal that publishes new legislation, thus coming into force.
Russia and Turkey signed an intergovernmental agreement on the pipeline on October 10. Two strings will carry each an annual 15.75 billion cubic meters of Russian natural gas to Turkey across the Black Sea.
