MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Monday, the food safety agency and representatives of Ukrainian poultry producers held a meeting on countering and prevention of avian flu.
"As of today, the State Food Safety and Consumer Protection Service of Ukraine has received an official notification about the ban on export of eggs to Hong Kong from the region of Kherson, [the export of] poultry and associated products from entire Ukraine to the EU," the agency's statement read.
The food safety regulator added that the European Union had sent a list of measures to counter the avian flu breakout and restart imports.
The village of Novooleksandrivka in Kherson region, where the outbreak was registered, has been quarantined.
