MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Burka is a non-obligatory Muslim women wearing, which covers body and face to prevent men from looking at a woman. Burkas were banned in several European countries including France, Belgium, Bulgaria, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
"The full veil must be banned wherever that is legally possible," Merkel said at the conference of her party as reported by DPA news agency.
The CDU conference started in the German city of Essen on Tuesday. The party is expected to adopt program for 2017 parliamentary elections. In November, Chancellor Merkel announced that she was going to run for a fourth term in office.
