Obamacare Repeal First Item on Agenda for New US Congress, Majority Leader Says
21:57 GMT 06.12.2016 (Updated: 11:25 GMT 06.08.2022) A resolution to repeal the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, will be the first item of business the new US Senate will address when it takes office on January 3, 2017, US Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell said to reporters on Tuesday.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — McConnell said that the Republicans are obligated by the people of the United States to get rid of Obamacare and do a better job.
"The Obamacare repeal resolution will be the first item up in the new year," McConnell stated.

Under Obamacare, the US federal government facilitates state-by-state marketplaces where uninsured citizens can buy health care coverage from private companies.
Numerous critics have characterized Obamacare as a great financial burden on individuals and companies, and as ultimately being unsustainable.
Other Republican leaders in the Senate told reporters that after repealing Obamacare they will work to undo the damage it has caused to families and businesses.
