Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Thursday that those responsible for the attack on a Russian mobile hospital in Syria that killed two medics will be found and punished.

HAMBURG (Sputnik) — Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said December 5 militants of the so-called Syrian opposition attacked a Russian mobile military hospital in Aleppo, killing two Russian military medics and wounding one. Local residents also sustained wounds.

"I am convinced that all necessary measures will be taken to punish the perpetrators and prevent similar tragedies from happening in the future," Lavrov told reporters in the German city of Hamburg.

Moscow believes that the attack on a Russian military hospital in Aleppo was a planned campaign, Russian Foreign Minister said earlier on Tuesday.

The United Kingdom, France and a range of international NGOs have condemned the attack.
