UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) — The ministry has provided assistance to over 10 countries this year, Puchkov said at the plenary session of the UN General Assembly on humanitarian assistance issue.
Over the last 25 years Russian rescuers have conducted more than 450 international operations, most of which were large-scale and responding to the challenges of the international humanitarian community, Puchkov noted.
"We have been working with rescuers, anti-crisis management specialist from almost all over the world while carrying out these operations. Millions of people received assistance from Russian rescuers," Puchkov said.
Puchkov stressed that Russia also accepted international assistance to eliminate the consequences of various emergency situations, what helped to receive valuable experience from foreign colleagues.
