President-elect Donald Trump formally nominated the head of CKE Restaurants Andy Puzder as head of the US Department of Labor, Trump transition team announced in a press release.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Puzder, 66, has served as CEO of CKE since 2000.

"Andy [Puzder] will fight to make American workers safer and more prosperous by enforcing fair occupational safety standards and ensuring workers receive the benefits they deserve," the release stated on Thursday. "[Puzder] will save small businesses from the crushing burdens of unnecessary regulations that are stunting job growth and suppressing wages."
