WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – Earlier this week, Stein’s campaign filed a lawsuit in US District Court in the city of Philadelphia, arguing that a recount is needed on constitutional grounds. The suit criticized Pennsylvania’s criteria for recounts as well as vote-counting machines used by the state, saying they do not provide paper records of ballots cast.
"We argue in federal court for a full recount to expose the disgraceful PA election system. Stand with us!" Stein wrote in a Twitter post.
In the weeks since Donald Trump's victory in the November 8 election, Stein and the Green Party have pushed recount efforts in three battleground states – Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. On Wednesday, a state court in Pennsylvania denied the Stein campaign’s request for an investigation into reported instances of voting-machine malfunctions on Election Day.
