MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull currently holds the lowest approval ratings since December 2015, a poll revealed Tuesday.
According to the poll conducted by the Essential Research group, Turnbull has an overall approval rating of 34 percent and overall disapproval rating of 46 percent. This is a dramatic change from December 2015, when his approval and disapproval ratings were 56 percent and 23 percent, respectively.
The findings further indicate that by the time Turnbull assumed the office of prime minister in September 2016, his approval rating sank to 35 percent.
The research group also found that there is an increased sentiment from many Australian politicians that the Liberal Party, which Turnbull leads, has become more conservative over the course of the year.
