MOSCOW (Sputnik) – On Monday, Egeland accused Russia and Syria of being responsible for atrocities perpetrated by "victorious" militiamen who were taking part in the operation to liberate Aleppo.
"It seems that Mr Egeland does not have information on what is happening in Aleppo, otherwise he would pay attention to atrocities perpetrated by terrorist groups. The fact that he does not mention it unfortunately evidences that he does not have information on what the reality is like in Syria and Aleppo," Peskov told reporters.
Over the past three weeks, the Syrian army and militias have freed more than 98 percent of the territory of eastern Aleppo, which had been held by terrorists since 2012, and have liberated over 100,000 residents of the city.
