MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Almost half a million of refugees will be employed in Germany in two years, a new report by labor market analysts from a German research institute will say.
The report, compiled by the Kiel Institute for the World Economy (IfW), will be presented this Thursday, the German newspaper Bild said. It is based on data provided by the Federal Employment Agency.
Researchers estimate that some 806,000 refugees will enter the labor market by the end of 2018 and 410,000 of them will find a job.
Of those 396,000 out of work, 204,000 refugees will be registered as unemployed and 192,000 will be signed up for the Employment Agency’s integration courses and other programs.
Almost a million refugees arrived in Germany last year after Chancellor Angela Merkel announced her open-door policy. The majority are fleeing war and poverty in North Africa and the Middle East.
