14:52 GMT 13.12.2016 (Updated: 11:26 GMT 06.08.2022) Sticking to his promise to reduce wasteful government spending, Donald Trump recently announced that he intends to reign in the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program which, according to the president-elect, got "out of control."
"The F-35 program and cost is out of control. Billions of dollars can and will be saved on military (and other) purchases after January 20th," Trump declared via Twitter on the same day that Israel was supposed to receive its first two F-35 fighters.
