15:50 GMT 13.12.2016 (Updated: 11:26 GMT 06.08.2022) Rex Tillerson, President-elect Donald Trump's nominee for the position of secretary of state, is a skilled professional whose prior experience will benefit the new administration, US Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin said in a statement on Tuesday.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, Trump’s transition team confirmed that the Tillerson, who was a CEO of oil giant ExxonMobil, has been chosen to head the US Department of State.
Following the nomination, Trump praised Tillerson for having vast experience in handling business dealings with different foreign governments.
