MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russia has the right to expect greater constructiveness and synchronizing of positions in relations with the United States on talks on the Syrian issue, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Wednesday.
"Russia and the United States are serious world powers, [which] are without doubt consistent in their policies, and mainly consistent in defending their interests. But we consider ourselves to have the right to expect greater constructiveness in speaking to each other. And, of course, [to expect] greater synchronization of positions of different agencies when dialogue is taking place," Peskov told reporters.
The official pointed out that Russia has never refused to speak to the United States on the Syrian issue, but would like to have constructive, not fruitless, dialogue.
