MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to Matvienko, those who did not like Russian stance are seeking to restrain its development and limit its influence in the world.
"We stand for the rising role of the United Nations as a global structure capable of managing international relations, and we oppose double standards," Matvienko said at a meeting with Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament Nikolaos Voutsis.
Voutsis arrived in Moscow on Monday to hold talks with the speakers of the Russian Parliament, as well as to participate in the events in the framework of a cross-cultural year between Russia and Greece.
She added that Russia was strictly opposing interference in the internal affairs of states, color revolutions and overthrowing of elected governments.
"We oppose the domination of a single party or a group of countries in the international relations," Matvienko added.
