WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – Berman, a senior executive with the hedge-fund firm Blackstone Group, met with Trump in New York City on Tuesday, according to Politico.
Berman was a senior official in the Department of Commerce during the presidency of George H.W. Bush.
Media reports said other people being considered as Trump’s trade representative are David McCormick, president of investment firm Bridgewater Associates; Dan DiMicco, former CEO of steel company Nucor; and Robert Lighthizer, a trade lawyer who served as deputy trade representative under President Ronald Reagan.
