MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The agreement will promote education of high-level specialists. It will also develop research and technological cooperation such as creation of joint laboratories, research centers, education programs, publication of new journals and articles.
"On December 16 in Tokyo head of the Russian University Presidents Union, Lomonosov Moscow State University president, academician Victor Sadovnichy and Tohoku University (Japan) president Susumu Satomi signed an agreement on creating an Association of Higher professional education institutions of the Russian Federation and Japan which will include leading universities of the two countries," the press release reads.
The association will increase student mobility as the universities will hold joint conferences, seminars and round tables. The association is a non-governmental organization with voluntary membership.
