WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Outgoing US President Barack Obama said in a news conference on Friday that it is upsetting the United States' relationship with Russia has deteriorated during his time in office.
"The relationship between us and Russia has deteriorated sadly significantly over the last several years," Obama stated.
Obama made the comment while discussing the sanctions that have been put in place against Russia in recent years, as well as the approach that could be taken against Moscow as a consequence for interfering in the US elections.
The Russian government has repeatedly claimed the accusations of interference in US elections are absurd and are intended to deflect public opinion from pressing domestic issues.
