Pentagon Awards SAIC a $47Mln Contract for IT Services
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) has received nearly $12 million to upgrade the weapon systems for the US Navy's MH-60 helicopter anti-submarine and anti-surface weapons, the US Department of Defense announced in a press release.

"Science Applications International Corp., McLean, Virginia, is being awarded an $11,838,878 cost-plus-fixed–fee contract for MH-60 helicopter weapon systems support and sustainment," the release said on Friday.

The MH-60R is the Navy's primary anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare platform and the most advanced maritime multi-mission helicopter in operation and deployed globally today, according to the release.

This contract combines purchases of 92 percent for the US Navy and 2 percent each for the governments of Denmark, Australia and Saudi Arabia, under the Foreign Military Sales Program, the release noted.

The MH-60 helicopter is designed to operate from frigates, destroyers, cruisers and aircraft carriers.
