TOKYO (Sputnik) – Putin is visiting Japan on December 15-16. On Thursday, he held talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in the city of Nagato in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
"I believe that it is the joint work on the economic track that will enable the creation of a basis needed to establish true partnership relations between the country. The economies of Russia complement each other and virtually have no competitive tensions," Putin said.
He added that there is a possibility of holding a more detailed discussion of Russia-Japan cooperation with participation of the business community, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday.
"Now there is an opportunity for a more detailed discussion of issues of trade and economic, as well as investment, cooperation with participation of the governments and the business circles," Putin said.
A Russian-Japanese Business Dialogue meeting will be held on Friday and attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
The meeting is organized by Russian-Japanese Business Council, All Russia Public Organization "Delovaya Rossiya," Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP), Japan Business Federation (Keidanren), Japan Association for Trade with Russia & NIS (ROTOBO) and Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
The agenda includes such topics as urban development, cooperation in energy sphere, as well as high-tech and export-oriented industries, enhancing health system, boosting small and medium businesses, development and modernization of the Russian Far East, intensification of the humanitarian exchanges.
During the Business Dialogue, it is expected to hold thematic round tables, B2B (business-to-business) and B2G (business-to-government) meetings, sign bilateral agreements.
