MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the ISNA news agency, Zarif stressed Iran’s full compliance with its obligations under the nuclear agreement and noted that, in order to preserve the integrity of the deal, all parties should implement its provisions.
The minister also indicated a non-commitment of the United States to the agreement, the agency said.
Iran and the P5+1 group of international mediators, that consists of five permanent UN Security Council members and Germany, have reached a historic agreement resolving the long-standing issue of Iranian nuclear program. The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action ensures the peaceful nature of Tehran's nuclear program in return for the gradual sanctions relief.
The plan came into force on January 16, 2016. However, in December, US Congress prolonged the sanctions initially imposed on Iran after the revolution of 1979 for another 10 years, stating that the renewal is fully consistent with the JCPOA.
