MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The number of settlements that have joined the cessation of hostilities in war-torn Syria has increased to 1,070, the ministry said.
"Within the last 24 hours, truce agreements have been reached with representatives of two settlements in Latakia province, bringing the total number of settlements that have joined the ceasefire to 1,070," the ministry said in a daily bulletin posted on its website.
The Russian center for Syrian reconciliation at the Hmeimim airbase registered a total of 28 violations of the ceasefire regime in Syria in the last 24 hours.
"A total of 28 ceasefire violations by illegal militant groups have been registered in Damascus (16), Aleppo (9), Hama (2), and Latakia (1) provinces," the ministry added.
The Jabhat Fatah Al-Sham, formerly known as Nusra Front, and Daesh terrorist groups, which have been outlawed in Russia, are not part of the ceasefire deal.
