WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Earlier on Monday, a French court found Lagarde guilty in a trial concerning a case of negligence.
"The Executive Board met today to consider recent developments in the legal proceedings in France involving Managing Director Christine Lagarde," the statement said on Monday. "The Executive Board reaffirms its full confidence in the Managing Director’s ability to continue to effectively carry out her duties."
Lagarde has been accused of influencing the outcome of a 2008 court process instigated by French entrepreneur Bernard Tapie against Credit Lyonnais bank.
