MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia has so far exported $14 billion worth of weaponry in 2016, the figure is not final, presidential aide Vladimir Kozhin said Monday.
"The agglomerate volume of arms exports is more than $14 billion, but this figure is not final as we are currently fulfilling orders under large contracts," Kozhin, said at the Golden Idea-2016 awards ceremony.
The import substitution program in the Russian defense industry sector will be almost fully implemented by 2018-2019, according to Kozhin.
"Our import substitution program is working very actively, I do not want to repeat, I can only say that by 2018-2019, we will almost completely close the import substitution program," Kozhin stated.
