BRUSSELS (Sputnik) – The Russia-NATO Council held a behind-closed-doors meeting in Brussels earlier on Monday at the level of permanent representatives to the alliance. It was the third RNC meeting in 2016.
"The meeting was long and comprehensive. We discussed the most important factors that influence the military security in Europe. The meeting had an open agenda allowing the participants to address the issues that concern them the most," Grushko told reporters.
According to Grushko, Russia expressed concern over deterrent policies against Russia conducted by the Alliance, and insisted that the strengthening of trust-building mechanisms between Russia and NATO was impossible while the Alliance implemented confrontational security schemes.
