Russian Foreign Ministry Special Representative for Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law Konstantin Dolgov said that the people of Ukraine were starting to get tired of human rights abuses while the world ignored the events in the country.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The human rights situation in Ukraine is appalling with the country's citizens getting tired of continuing violations, Russian Foreign Ministry Special Representative for Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law Konstantin Dolgov said Monday.

"Ukraine is one big human rights violation… Here it is, another experiment in the field of human rights and democracy, which led to the country actually becoming a staging area for violent and aggressive nationalism, national extremism," Dolgov said at a round table discussion.

Dolgov said that the people of Ukraine were starting to get tired of human rights abuses while the world ignored the events in the country.

A political crisis erupted in Ukraine in November 2013, when the country's authorities decided to suspend its integration process with Europe. The protests that started in Kiev spread across the country and led to a government coup in February, forcing then-President Viktor Yanukovych to flee the country.
