ANKARA (Sputnik) — Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov was killed by a gunman at an art gallery exhibition opening in Ankara earlier on Monday. Three other people were also injured in the attack.
"We decisively condemn this despicable terrorist attack. The terrorist was eliminated. A thorough investigation will be carried out, and all responsible will face the Turkish justice," the ministry said in a statement.
"We will not allow this crime to cast a shadow on Russia-Turkey relations," the ministry stressed adding that the visit of the Turkish foreign minister to Moscow will take place despite the tragedy.
