MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The fracking practice should be abandoned as it is dangerous and expensive, the Green Party said on Tuesday, referring to the UK High Court ruling supporting fracking in North Yorkshire.
"So wrong. #Fracking is expensive, dangerous and unnecessary — this should not go ahead!" the Green Party wrote on Twitter.

Earlier in the day, the UK High Court ruled that fracking could go ahead at a site in North Yorkshire following a case of environmentalist groups against it.
The judge's decision means that the Third Energy company could use hydraulic fracturing to extract shale gas at the village of Kirby Misperton.
Third Energy filed an application to frack at the site in July 2015. The North Yorkshire county's council approved it in May.
Fracking, or hydraulic fracturing, involves injecting a mixture of toxic chemicals into the ground at high pressure. The method is heavily criticized for the associated environmental risks and its potential to trigger tremors.
