MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Monday, a truck rammed into the crowd at a Berlin Christmas market on the Breitscheidplatz square, killing 12 people and injuring 49 more. Germany's Interior Ministry described the incident as a terrorist attack.
"This cynical crime has no excuses. The incident confirms once again that joint efforts are needed in fight against terrorism," Medvedev said in a telegram addressed to German Chancellor Angela Merkel, according to a statement posted on the Russian Cabinet's website.
According to reports by the Western media, Daesh terrorist group claimed on Tuesday responsibility for the deadly attack in Berlin.
